Rye Harbour - 3rd April

Sabine, Josh and I decided to do a decent walk around Rye Harbour starting at Castle Water. The weather was fine but again cool. Near to Castle Water hide we spotted a small flock of 6 Yellow Wagtails, interspersed with Pied Wagtails, which had clearly just arrived and were moving slowly eastwards. We also saw a male Marsh Harrier quartering over the reeds together with House Martins and Swallows and a singing Sedge Warbler. Further round on the walk the highlight was a group of Avocets and a Wheatear on the shingle.
