This year has been a very good year for Bee Orchids at Horseshoe Plantation, a phenomenon that seems to have been mirrored throughout the UK. The HP Bee Orchids are not the tallest, presumably due to the fact that they are exposed to constant wind on the coast, but this year there have been ca. 100 flowering plants. Butterflies were plentiful in the warm sunshine including a female Adonis Blue, male Dark Green Fritillaries, Small Skippers, plenty of Marbled Whites, a Small Blue and a Small Tortoiseshell.
