Horseshoe Plantation and East Sussex Cemetery - 3rd May

Back down south again and a quick visit to Horseshoe Plantation resulted in the first Grizzled Skipper of the year for this location. However the highlight of the day was the couple of hours spent photographing Green-winged Orchids whose numbers were now in the several hundreds. These large numbers resulted in a few flowers with atypical colours, including two pure white plants and several paler pink spikes. This variation in colour creates a stunning spectacle at this time of the year.
