Warton Crag - 1st May

Despite temperatures only just creeping into double figures I decided to venture north to Warton Crag which is a limestone outcrop part of the Silverdale AONB. At this time of the year the highlights are Pearl-bordered Fritillary and Early Purple Orchids. Although I only caught a brief glimpse on a PBF, the Orchids were flowering in many areas across the Crag. This really is one of the best places to see EPOs in the north west.
